Summer Reading Programs for 2015!

Attention Sonntag Readers! Summer is nearly here and it is a wonderful time to catch up on some great reads. Even though the Sonntag Library is not loaning books until the fall, there are a TON of wonderful reading programs around the community that are designed for students of all ages. From now until the first day of school on August 24th, log the minutes you read. You can log your minutes anytime and from any place you go in the world. You can log in as many times as you want as you read throughout the summer.

If the Sonntag Community reads 300,000 minutes or more by the first day of school, Mrs. Del Hierro get's slimed!!!

Summer Reading Programs 2K14!!!

It's that time of year again!!! Summer is around the corner and it is a FANTASTIC time to make your summer reading list. Mine is a mile long!!  Even though the Sonntag Library is no longer loaning books for rest of the school year, there are a TON of wonderful reading programs out there that are designed for students of all ages. Please click the links below to find out more information about local summer reading programs near you. Happy summer reading! :)

Stop by the Sonntag library any time before school ends to pick up your summer reading log. Logs will also be sent home with students during Sonntag Celebrates Children's Book week. If you read 10 books this summer, add the titles of the books to your log. Don't forget to return your completed log to the library in August. Students who turn in a completed log will receive a brand new book! Click on the images below to print off a copy of the reading log from home. Make sure you print both pages. :)

The Book of AWESOME

by Neil Pasricha

Contains brief essays in which comedy writer Neil Pasricha shares his observations on some of the little things in life that make people happy, such as popping bubble wrap, solving the "Wheel of Fortune" puzzle first, and seeing someone laugh in their sleep.

Take a picture of yourself or your family this summer for the library.

On vacation, on the playground, maybe even underwater - take a creative photo and add to our display when school starts. 

Email digital photos to Mrs. Mattei (matteie@friscoisd.org) or print a copy to bring to school in August. Prizes will be awarded.
