Fall 2016 Scholastic Book Fair!!

Library Stats: February 2015 Edition


February proved to be one of the busiest months on record for the Sonntag library, in spite of our snow and ice! Students enjoyed a fantastic spring Scholastic Book Fair. The Sonntag community participated in the 5th annual Six Flags Read to Succeed program. Mrs. Mattei even collaborated with Mrs. Beathard, the Isbell librarian, to host a storytime at one of Frisco ISD's special program campuses. Furhter, Mrs. Mattei conducted research lessons for the 2nd grade students. Check out the stats from February. Happy reading! :o)

Spring Scholastic Book Fair is Coming!



Mark your calendars, Sonntag Community! The spring Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner. The Fair will open in the library on Monday, February 9th and will run through Friday, February 13th. Please click the CRAB below to find out more about regular shopping hours, shopping during Sonntag Science Night, and the Online Fair. Library Stats: February Edition

Happy March, Y'all!!! I hope you had a great break. February was a wonderful month in the Sonntag library. The Scholastic Book Fair came and it was the biggest Book Fair yet! A huge thank you goes out to the Sonntag family for helping to put books into the hands of students, teachers, and into the Sonntag library. A HUGE shout out the the Sonntag PTA for helping to put almost 150 new books into the Sonntag library collection through the profits from the spring Scholastic Book Fair!! The students, staff, and community will no doubt enjoy these books for years to come!

February Stats

(February Edition)

February has come and gone and what a month it was! The library hosted the second and final Scholastic Book Fair of the year. Because of our amazing students, parents, families, and friends the Sonntag Library as well as classroom libraries were able to acquire a wealth of new books. Thank you so much for your support! In addition, the 3rd annual 6 Flags Read to Succeed program wrapped up for the year. Students who participated in this amazing program will receive their free 6 Flags ticket sometime in May. 

During the month of February, 2nd and 3rd graders read the story The Book That Eats People by John Perry. They LOVED this story and even got "eaten by a book!!!" Check their photos out!



Also in February, library staff and the technology facilitator for Sonntag & Mooneyham collaborated to host a technology showcase for teachers. The teachers learned all about amazing Web 2.0 technology for their classrooms as well as online library research resources such as MackinVia! 



Check out our amazing 2012-2013 UIL Spelling Team! They competed at the UIL competeition in Feburary and did a fantastic job! Way to go!

(December/January Edition)

Wow!! What a winter in the Sonntag library! Even though the year is half over, the activity in the library has just begun! Students and staff members alike have been busy checking out books as well as utilizing library resources. Furthermore, Bluebonnet Readers celebrated the end of the Blubonnet Voting "season" by casting their votes to voice their favorite book from this year's list (see pictures below). In addition, the library launched the 3rd annual Six Flags Read to Succeed program, the 'Read It Forward' program, as well as a brand new 5th Grade Readers Book Club!
