Look What's Happening @ the #gselibrary!

October & November have been CRAZY busy in the Sonntag Library! Check out what's been going on!

The Sonntag Library and Technology staff, and Kinder teachers collaborated to create a fun pumpkin technology experience for our little Kinder kids! The researchers measured pumpkins, worked through creative and technology-based pumpkin stations, and listened to pumpkin stories!

Sonntag 3rd graders participated in a Book Tasting this week!! 3rd graders were challenged to explore a variety of lesser-checked-out books in the library to connect with the books that they may have overlooked. Many kids walked away with a list of books they want to check out next week!

In October, 4th Graders attended the Lone Star Storytelling Festival hosted by the Frisco Public Library. The kids really enjoyed hearing a variety of stories from some talented storytellers!

Sonntag Kinder & 1st graders have had the opportunity to participate in the library's new makerspace area. Students have the opportunity to play with IO Blocks (pictured above) as well as some good old fashioned coloring!!

2nd - 5th graders have been busy coders!!! The students are learning the fundamentals
of how to computer program by working through lessons and creating video games through Code.org

Local illustrator AG Ford visited Sonntag and talked about the amazing art of illustration and how he became an illustrator. The students and staff truly enjoyed his presentation!
