Battle of the Books 2K14!!!


Are you ready for a battle of LITERARY proportions????? The Sonntag Library is hosting it's first annual 'Battle of the Books' to wrap up another amazing year! Each week the students will vote on the most popular books for this school year starting with the top 16. The students will cast their votes using GoogleForms and will be able vote as many times as they would like. Each week I will announce the winners. Check out the top 16 books for this week then check back next week for the winners and the next bracket. Happy reading!

Melissa Sweet Author Visit!!!


Sonntag Elementary had the privilege of hosting award winning author/illustrator Melissa Sweet in the library! The entire school was THRILLED to listen to Mrs. Sweet as she told us the background of her amazing  book Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade as well as Little Red Writing! Book of the Day by Mrs. Mattei!!!


Are you ready for some football???? 

If you are a college football...wait...Fightin' Texas Aggie Football fan (WHOOP!!!!!)...okay...I got a little excited...

 If you are a college football fan like I am you will LOVE this new series in the Sonntag Library!! We have a large variety of college football teams from the Texas Aggies all the way to the Clemson Tigers! So, put your game day jersey on and check the 'Inside College Football' series out! Library Stats: February Edition

Happy March, Y'all!!! I hope you had a great break. February was a wonderful month in the Sonntag library. The Scholastic Book Fair came and it was the biggest Book Fair yet! A huge thank you goes out to the Sonntag family for helping to put books into the hands of students, teachers, and into the Sonntag library. Texas Bluebonnet Award Announcement!!


Sonntag Bluebonnet Readers cast their votes on January 24th. They were a part of the 181,734 students across the great state of Texas who cast their votes to choose the 2013-2014 winner. Check out the results!

Library Stats: January Edition

Happy February, Y'all!! January was a fantastically busy month for all!! The library launched the 4th annual Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. In addition, students and teachers enjoyed the 2nd annual Read It Forward program. Here are the two books that the stuedents have shared in this wonderful reading program:
